Marike Tuin Viola da Gamba | baroque cello

Marike Tuin studied modern cello at the conservatories of Utrecht and Zwolle, baroque cello at the conservatory of Amsterdam with Wouter Moller and Jaap ter Linden and viola da gamba with Philippe Pierlot and Anneke Pols at the Royal conservatory of The Hague.Marike has also participated in orchestra projects with a.o. Richard Egarr, Philippe Herreweghe, Gustav Leonhardt, Jos van Immerseel and Reinhard Goebel; as well as many masterclasses with Bruno Cocset and Roel Dieltiens (baroque cello), Wieland Kuijken, Jordi Savall and Rainer Zipperling (viola da gamba), and Gerard Lesne and Sigiswald Kuijken (chamber music).
Marike performs regularly with chamber music groups and orchestras such as Combattimento Consort Amsterdam, The Spirit of Gambo, the Frankfurter Barockorchester and baroque cello quartet Gut Feelings. With the Uranie Chamber Ensemble, Marike performed in the chapel of Versailles and the Concertgebouw. During the Easter season, Marike can be heard playing cello and gamba in Bach's Matthew and John's Passions throughout the Netherlands.
